2nd Annual Field of Honor -  11/1/2009

In honor of Veterans Day, the Kiwanis Club of Amityville will sponsor a “Field of Honor”. This field of American Flags recognizes and honors Past & Present Veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms.


The “Field of Honor” flag consists of a 3 x 5 ft. flag mounted on an 8ft. pole and placed
in precision rows on the front lawn of the Amityville Memorial High School on Merrick Rd.

Installation of New Officers and Board! -  10/1/2009
    The Amityville Kiwanis Club held its 61st Installation dinner on Thursday October 1st, at the Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club. As usual there was a great turn out of members and guests to witness the changing of the guard. Immediate Past President, Corinne Amico handed over the Charter to new President Richard Anderson. The night was filled with laughter and friendly conversation.

Amityville Kiwanis Installs a New Member Danielle Knoll-Faldetta -  8/6/2009
    The Amityville Kiwanis Club installed its newest member at its weekly meeting on August 6th, at the Bulldog Grille. Danielle Knoll-Faldetta was proudly sponsored into the club by an unprecedented three members. She has been a local community member for many years and she is very excited and honored to become a part of this 60 year old community organization. Award Winners

The Amityville Kiwanis Club, awarded seven local High School Seniors with scholarships last week at its weekly meeting. David Heller and his committee, reviewed all the applications, interviewed the students, and chose these students for there scholastic excellence, community and school involvement. Mr. Heller commented "I am very proud of this year's recipients as they represent the best of our wonderful school system." The Award winners are Ebony Allen, Blake

Happy 60th Anniversary -  6/14/2009

On Sunday June 14th, The Amityville Kiwanis Club celebrated the 60th anniversary of its charter. The celebration was held at the Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club in Amityville with a delicious brunch. Over 100 guest were in attendance, with representation of many of the local community and business organizations and local dignitaries.

Kiwanis One Day -  4/4/2009

Kiwanis One Day!

Kiwanis International has asked its entire organization around the world to take one day in April and volunteer with local children on a community project.

On Saturday April 4th, The Kiwanis Club of Amityville with help from Mayor Peter Imbert, Trustee Joe Slack, children from the St. Martin of Tours School,  and some community members to pitch in on a project that Mayor Imbert has been wanting done for a long time. Amityville Kiwanis Installs a New Member: Andrew Nifenecker -  4/2/2009

On Thursday April 2nd, the Amityville Kiwanis Club installed Andrew Nifenecker as its newest member. Long time member and past president Hal Schad preformed a touching installation ceremony.
Andrew is a lifelong resident of Amityville and a 1991 graduate of Amityville Memorial High School. He is a business owner - Massapequa Sign Shop. Andrew said the reason he chose to join the Kiwanis Club was that you can't go more than a few blocks in Amityville without seeing something that

Amityville Kiwanis visit Broadlawn Manor for Valentines Day -  2/14/2009

On Saturday Febuary 14th, members of the Amityville Kiwanis Club visited all of the residents, day care and rehab patients of the Broadlawn Manor Nursing Home in Amityville. The Kiwanians gave out red carnations and homemade cards made by local elementary students and members of the KBuilders club.
